Specification
Reactivity | AA2, AAV3 |
Description | Rapid lateral flow test for the detection of AAV1 and AAV6 viral capsids in crude lysates or purified sample. |
Quantity | 25 Lateral flow tests |
Sensitivity | 1.0E+08 to 1.0E+10 capsids of AAV2 and AAV3 in the final assay volume of 200 μl. |
Test Principle | The test is based on the specific binding of an anti-AAV2/ AAV3 antibody to fully assembled viral capsids. Empty and full capsids show no difference in binding to this antibody. |
Sample Preparation | crude cell lysates or purfied AAV. No special treatment required. |
Background
Gene therapy using adeno-associated virus (AAV) as a vector has emerged as a novel therapeutic modality that has the potential to cure many diseases. Methods for the characterization of AAV preparations currently include titration ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR, DNA dot blot, cell based assays, SDS-PAGE or electron microscopy.AAV lateral flow sandwich assay for the detection of fully assembled capsids using an antibody specific for the serotype of AAV. The quick and reliable detection of AAV samples allows a rapid estimation and comparison of concentrations in various samples for in process control or purification steps. |
